TUFF Grappling Championship Report

11th December 2010, Morefire Luton team joined forces with comrades Blood Sweat & Tears MMA team under the supervision of master Xandinho to represent and compete under the banner of the new Internatonal fight team – ICON Jiu-Jitsu Team for the very first time at the TUFF Grappling Challenge in Kent, UK.

The team was very eager to compete after excellent preperations in training and some stellar results were collected for the new ICON Team including:

Gold for Faisal Malik, Bronze for Jaden Neembhard Gill who stepped up in age and weight to fight, Gold for James McElroy, Gold for Dean Williams, Silver for Jefferson George, Bronze for Andrew Gibbard, Gold for Marcin Cyberny, Gold for Artur Purqal and Bronze for Artur Wyzniak.

With more time and preperation things can only get better from here especially with the unified strength of the new international team. Whatever the result for all competitiors who travelled to put it on the line, the experience gained can only make us stronger for the future. Well done guys!

Xandinho seminar report

Thanks to everyone who came to learn from a champion and develop new skills at the seminar held last week, the turnout was awesome and I’m sure everyone took something from the session that they could use to grow their game in both the gi and without it.

Techniques from takedowns to sweeps and submissions were covered and the sparring was awesome too and it was clear to see that all enjoyed the occasion and the close proximity and exposure to a black belt’s skills as well as those of Brown belt and MMA fighter Ramzan ‘Hamza’ Ali who was also in attendance to supprort the club with his presence. Thank you to all who attended and thanks to Xandinho and Hamza, Osu!
